Dinosaurchestra 20th Anniversary Movie

Dinosaurchestra 20th Anniversary Movie

Given the scale of this project, I feel that it deserves its own page. For some context, Dinosaurchestra is an album by Lemon Demon, released on July 20, 2006. Following the success that was the Word Disassociation Remake (also listed in my projects page), there were talks among the group about doing something for Dinosaurchestra's 20th anniversary. At that point (March 2025), the anniversary was about a year and a half away.
Nothing really came out of those talks until September 15, 2025, when I decided to make a little announcement post in the Word Disassociation project Discord server. Following that post, I made a Reddit post in r/lemondemon on September 16, 2025, stating basically the same thing. I was looking for people to make full music videos for each Dinosaurchestra song, then I would edit those videos together into one big "music movie". We would then release the movie on July 20, 2026, the 20th anniversary of Dinosaurchestra. Already, this project was far more ambitious than the Word Disassociation Remake because of the amount of media each person would be producing. But I wanted the entire album to be highlighted for this project, so that's how it would be.
I'm going to skip over the 10 months between then and now because explaining it would take way too long. In short, songs changed hands a lot as people realized that doing this was a pretty big commitment. Eventually, we ended up at the July 1, 2026 deadline, which was originally when people were supposed to be done with their videos. Unfortunately, only like 1 person had finished their video at that point, so we had to push the deadline to July 17, 2026. And then August 1, 2026. Thankfully, the final deadline was met and the movie was completed from there. I think that this project really revealed how procrastination can take hold on such a large timeline. People who join at the beginning and came through to the end had 10 months to create their videos, but most of the work was done in the last few weeks. I did this too. For future reference, I think it's better to have deadlines sooner rather than later, or to just have a project where you don't get 10 months to work. People get more done faster on these tighter timeframes, and deadlines are more likely to be met. But that's probably not true for everyone. I'm basically just rambling at this point, just go and watch the video.
